Why My Dog Wears a Coach Collar

Exactly why does BECK our two-year old Boykin Spaniel wear a Coach collar? Ever since Coach rebranded itself from a conservative, traditional leather retailer into a contemporary, relevant hot-shot with hundreds of locations worldwide I have been intrigued.

The brand reinvention process has yielded a brand that is desired by my husband, our teen-aged daughters, and yes now our family dog.

For me it begins with the quality of the leather - then it's the Coach designers' interpretation of current fashion trends. In this case, the color and the detailing reflect modern meets manly. Perfect for a canine of Beck's breeding and character. Beck is a super-fast Uber pup who stirs up good-natured fun and has an intensity about him that will stop you in your tracks. Although he is a sporting breed, he is more urban than rural. Again, perfectly suited to the Coach brand.

As a brandonista, I pay attention to brand image and the collar I chose for Beck had to reflect his personal brand. In the same manner I select the BMW I drive and the iPhone I carry. But in Beck's case this would be the sole accessory that could tell his brand story.

It's a perfect look, don't you think?
